The 10 Taka polymer banknote issued in 2000 marked Bangladesh’s brief experimentation with synthetic substrates for improved durability and resistance to wear. The obverse features Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, while the reverse showcases the National Martyrs’ Memorial (Jatiyo Sriti Shoudho), commemorating those who lost their lives during the 1971 Liberation War. Although the polymer version was eventually discontinued, it remains a rare and collectible item due to its short circulation period and material uniqueness.
