Issued on 25 May 1992 by the National Bank of Belarus, the 10 Rubles banknote belongs to the first post-Soviet “first ruble” series. The obverse showcases the European bison (wisent), a symbol of Belarus’s rich wildlife and natural heritage, depicted in a naturalistic forest setting with intricate guilloché patterns in green and blue tones.

The reverse features the historic Belarusian knight coat of arms, known as the Pahonia, showing a mounted knight with a raised sword and shield, set against traditional ornamental patterns. The note is printed on 100% cotton paper, includes a braided “S” watermark and red UV-fluorescent fibers, but lacks a security thread. It measures 105 x 53 mm and was withdrawn from circulation on 1 January 2001.
