Cabo Verde 200 Escudos 2019

Issued in 2019 by the Banco de Cabo Verde, this 200 Escudos banknote continues the modern polymer series dedicated to prominent national figures. The obverse features a portrait of Henrique Teixeira de Sousa, a celebrated Cape Verdean writer and physician, alongside artistic elements reflecting his contributions to literature and public health. Inscriptions are in Portuguese, the official language of Cabo Verde.

The reverse side displays a view of Mindelo, located on the island of São Vicente, known as a cultural capital of the archipelago. As a polymer note, it includes advanced security features such as a transparent window, microtext, and color-shifting details for protection against counterfeiting.
