Issued in 2004 by the Central Bank of Chile, this 2,000 Pesos banknote is part of the polymer series and was the first Chilean note printed on polymer substrate. The obverse displays a portrait of Manuel Rodríguez, a national hero of the independence movement, accompanied by a statue of him on horseback, set against a lilac and multicolor underprint background.
The reverse features an illustration of the Iglesia de los Dominicos, a historic church in Santiago, with the seal of the Central Bank of Chile. The color palette is primarily lilac with subtle multicolor patterns.
Printed on polymer and measuring 145 × 70 mm, security features include a transparent window, tactile marks for the visually impaired, and flourescent fibers under UV light. A watermark of Manuel Rodríguez is also present. The note is cataloged under Pick number P‑160a.
