Issued in 1980 by the People’s Bank of China, this 1 Jiao (0.1 Yuan) banknote is part of the Fourth Series of the Renminbi, featuring themes of China’s ethnic diversity. The obverse shows portraits of Gaoshan and Manchu men dressed in traditional attire. The reverse displays the National Emblem of the People’s Republic of China, with denomination inscriptions in Chinese, Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur, and Zhuang scripts.

The note is printed on cotton-based paper and measures 115 × 52 mm. It includes intaglio printing and multicolor guilloché designs, but does not have a watermark or security thread.

At its issue, it circulated along with other minor denominations and remained legal tender for decades. Cataloged under Pick number P‑881a/b.
