The 5000 Dinara 1993 banknote was issued by the National Bank of Croatia during the hyperinflation period following the breakup of Yugoslavia. It was part of the transitional currency series before the kuna fully stabilized as the national currency.
The obverse features Nikola Tesla (1856–1943), the famed inventor and electrical engineer of Croatian origin, with intricate guilloché patterns and numerals indicating the denomination.
The reverse depicts industrial and technological motifs, symbolizing innovation and progress in Croatia.
Printed on paper with a watermark and embedded colored fibers, the note provided basic security features.
