The 100 Kroner 2015 banknote was issued by Danmarks Nationalbank as part of the modern series highlighting Danish cultural heritage and notable figures.
The obverse features a portrait of King Christian IX (1818–1906), known as the “Father-in-law of Europe,” accompanied by detailed guilloché patterns and the denomination in numerals and words.
The reverse depicts Roskilde Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site and royal burial church, reflecting Denmark’s historical and architectural significance.
Printed on cotton-based paper, the note includes a watermark, security thread, microprinting, and color-shifting elements to prevent counterfeiting.
