The 2 Cedis 2015 banknote was issued by the Bank of Ghana as part of the 2015 enhanced banknote series.
The obverse features the portraits of the Big Six, Ghana’s independence leaders: Kwame Nkrumah, Ebenezer Ako-Adjei, Edward Akufo-Addo, Joseph Boakye Danquah, Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey, and William Ofori Atta. It also includes the national coat of arms and security features like a holographic stripe and watermark.
The reverse depicts the Akosombo Hydroelectric Dam on the Volta River, a symbol of Ghana’s industrial power and development.
