The obverse shows the Dukan Dam, an important hydroelectric project located in the Kurdistan region, symbolising national infrastructure and economic development. The design includes detailed guilloché patterns, bilingual numbering, and modern security features.

The reverse depicts a winged bull (Lamassu) from the ancient city of Khorsabad, representing Mesopotamian art and mythology. This guardian figure is one of the most recognisable symbols of Assyrian civilisation.
