Armenia 2,000 Dram 2018

The 2,000 Dram banknote issued in 2018 by the Central Bank of Armenia marks the introduction of a new denomination in the third Armenian banknote series, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the national currency. This uncirculated note features a portrait of Tigran Petrosian, Armenia’s 9th World Chess Champion, with chessboard motifs and excerpts from his famous games. The reverse depicts the Tigran Petrosian Chess House and his statue in Yerevan. Printed on a durable hybrid substrate with advanced security elements—including a Galaxy windowed security thread, SPARK® Live color-shifting ink, transparent window, and microprinting—this note embodies design innovation and cultural tribute.
