Issued on 25 May 1992 by the National Bank of Belarus, this 25 Rubles banknote forms part of the first post-Soviet “first ruble” series. The obverse features a detailed illustration of a moose, a proud symbol of Belarus’s natural wildlife, framed by intricate guilloché patterns in soft orange and pink tones.
The reverse side displays the historic Pahonia coat of arms, showing a mounted knight wielding a sword and shield, surrounded by stylized ornamental elements. The note is printed on 100% cotton paper by Goznak and includes UV-fluorescent fibers and a hexagonal-pattern watermark, but it does not include a security thread.
The banknote measures 105 x 52 mm and was officially withdrawn from circulation on 1 January 2001.

The moose in North America, or elk in Eurasia (Alces alces), is a member of the New World deer subfamily and is the largest and heaviest extant species in the deer family.
The Pahonia is the historical Coat of Arms of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, but it was also the official emblem of the Republic of Belarus from 1991 to 1995.
