Issued on 1 January 2000 by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus as part of the “second ruble” series (where 1 new ruble = 1,000 old rubles), this cotton‑paper banknote measures 150 × 69 mm. The obverse features the Kholm Gate, a fragment of the Brest Hero‑Fortress memorial. The reverse showcases the main entrance of the Brest Fortress. The design is predominantly orange‑red with multicolor underprinting.
Security features include a solid security thread, a watermark depicting the Kholm Gate, and red UV‑fluorescent fibers. The note was withdrawn from circulation on 1 July 2016, following the introduction of a new ruble series in the same year.
