Issued in 1972 by the National Bank of Cambodia, this 100 Riels banknote belongs to the pre-Khmer Rouge era currency series. The obverse features a detailed portrait of Norodom Sihanouk, the then Head of State, framed by Khmer script inscriptions and traditional ornamental designs.
The reverse depicts the renowned Angkor Wat temple, Cambodia’s national symbol, surrounded by intricate geometric patterns and Khmer motifs. Printed on cotton-based paper, the note includes security features such as a watermark and a security thread for anti-counterfeiting measures.
