Issued in 2016 by the Central Bank of Chile, this 2,000 Pesos polymer banknote is part of the modern 2009–2021 series. The obverse features a portrait of Manuel Rodríguez, the Chilean independence hero, along with a stylized sun and a heart-shaped cut of the copihue flower, Chile’s national flower, incorporated into the design.
The reverse shows Lonquimay Volcano in the Nalcas National Reserve, with a choroy parrot (Burrowing parakeet) perched in the foreground—symbolizing the country’s natural biodiversity.
Printed on polymer substrate, this note measures 128 × 70 mm. Security features include a clear transparent window, simulated security thread, tactile marks for the visually impaired, microprinting, and UV‑reactive fibers.
