Issued in 1953 by the People’s Bank of China, this 1 Fen banknote is part of the second series of Renminbi (Rénmínbì) issued with date “1953.” The obverse shows a ZIS‑150 truck loaded with produce at right, with inscriptions in Chinese characters stating the denomination and year.
The reverse displays the National Emblem of the People’s Republic of China at center, surrounded by decorative guilloché patterns. Underneath appear denomination texts in four scripts: Chinese, Uyghur, Tibetan, and Mongolian, reflecting the multi-ethnic issuance.
Printed on cotton-based paper, this small-sized note measures 90 × 42 mm. It does not include a watermark or security thread, but features a printed serial number (in most original issues) and intaglio printing.
The banknote was officially issued beginning March 1, 1955, and was in use until it was withdrawn from circulation on April 1, 2007. Cataloged under Pick number P‑860.
