The 1 Lari 1993 banknote was issued by the National Bank of Georgia during the early years of independence, shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union. This was part of Georgia’s first modern currency series.
The obverse features traditional Georgian ornaments and national motifs, reflecting the country’s rich cultural heritage.
The reverse presents historic architectural designs inspired by Georgian churches and medieval art.
Security elements are minimal compared to later issues, typical of transitional notes of the early 1990s.
