The 20 Lari 2021 banknote, issued by the National Bank of Georgia, is part of the renewed lari series, featuring enhanced designs and modern security features.
The obverse depicts Ilia Chavchavadze, the celebrated Georgian writer, poet, and national leader, accompanied by traditional ornamental motifs and elements of Georgian script.
The reverse shows the Tbilisi State Drama Theatre, one of the country’s most iconic cultural landmarks, along with decorative patterns inspired by Georgian art.
Security features include a watermark with Ilia Chavchavadze’s portrait, holographic foil stripe, color-shifting ink, microtext, and tactile intaglio printing.
