The 250 Lari 1993 banknote was issued by the National Bank of Georgia during the country’s early years of independence, before the monetary reform that replaced the provisional coupons (Kuponi) with the modern Lari in 1995.
The obverse features traditional Georgian ornamental motifs, with complex geometric patterns in green and brown tones.
The reverse continues with abstract and ornamental designs, reflecting the transitional nature of Georgia’s early banknotes.
This note belongs to the short-lived Kuponi issues (1993–1995), which suffered from hyperinflation before being replaced by the stable Lari currency.
