The 30,000 Lari 1994 belongs to the Georgian Kuponi emergency issues (1993–1995), introduced after independence to replace the Soviet ruble. This series is characterized by high denominations due to rampant hyperinflation.
The obverse shows ornamental and geometric patterns in violet and brown, following the minimalist style of the Kuponi series without portraits or national symbols.
The reverse continues with abstract motifs and decorations, maintaining the same aesthetic across the series.
Like other Kuponi notes, it was short-lived and demonetized in 1995 with the introduction of the modern Georgian Lari (GEL), at the exchange rate of 1 GEL = 1,000,000 Kuponi.
