The obverse features a portrait of Kaysone Phomvihane, former Prime Minister and President of Laos, accompanied by denomination numerals, Lao script text, and intricate guilloche patterns in traditional Lao style.
The reverse showcases the Nam Ngum 1 Hydropower Dam, a central symbol of Laos’ hydroelectric development and one of the nation’s most important energy infrastructures. Additional ornamental elements, repeating denominations, and security features complete the design.
