The Mozambique 20 Meticais 2024 Pick 155 banknote was issued by the Banco de Moçambique on 16 June 2024 as part of the country’s completely redesigned 2024 Series. Printed on a durable polymer substrate, it combines advanced security technology with a tribute to Samora Moisés Machel, the first President of independent Mozambique.
Presented in UNC (Uncirculated) condition, this colourful banknote is the lowest denomination of Mozambique’s new polymer series and one of the country’s newest circulating issues.
Historical Background
The 2024 Series commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Banco de Moçambique and the 45th anniversary of the Metical. The new family maintains Samora Moisés Machel on the obverse of every denomination while giving each banknote a unique national theme. The 20 Meticais represents the Geography of Mozambique, highlighting the Chimanimani Mountain Range in the Binga region.
