Issued by the Banco Central de Venezuela in 2016, this 2000 Bolívares banknote is part of the Bolívar Fuerte series circulated during a period of significant inflation in the country. The obverse features a portrait of Cacique Guaicaipuro, an important indigenous leader who resisted Spanish colonial forces, surrounded by denomination numerals and inscriptions with ornamental background patterns. The reverse depicts a harpy eagle (Harpia harpyja) in flight over the Salto Ucaima waterfalls and tepuis of Canaima National Park, alongside the Venezuelan coat of arms and additional denomination elements, celebrating Venezuela’s wildlife and natural landscapes. The design uses a combination of brown and citron tones and includes modern security features typical of the period.
