The 200 Manat banknote, introduced on May 24, 2018, by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, represents the largest denomination in the modern manat series introduced since 2006. The obverse showcases Baku’s iconic Heydar Aliyev Center, including its distinctive interior and exterior architectural elements, adorned with traditional carpet motifs. The reverse features a stylized map of Azerbaijan and Europe alongside national carpet patterns—symbolizing Azerbaijan’s cultural identity and international outlook.
Crafted by Crane Currency and printed by Giesecke & Devrient in Germany, this blue-toned paper note (160 × 70 mm) incorporates advanced, multi-tier security: a windowed RollingStar® thread color-shifting from green to blue with a demetalized “AMB 200”, a SPARK™ Live holographic foil, a RollingStar LEAD holographic stripe, dual iridescent gold and blue ink bands—highlighting “200” and “AZN”—convex tactile features for the visually impaired, a coat-of-arms watermark with electrotype 200, and ultraviolet-reactive elements.
Issued to meet evolving economic needs and bolster security, this high-denomination note marks Azerbaijan’s commitment to innovation in currency design and value preservation.
