The $1 Bahamian banknote, issued in 2015 by the Central Bank of The Bahamas, is part of the CRISP (“Counterfeit Resistant Integrated Security Product”) family—a major upgrade in the Bahamas’ currency design for enhanced security. Printed on high-grade paper (156 × 67 mm) by De La Rue and Oberthur Fiduciaire, it features a portrait of Sir Lynden O. Pindling, the “Father of the Nation,” on the front. The reverse displays the Royal Bahamas Police Band, the national coat of arms, and a yellow elder flower.
Security highlights include a violet-to-green windowed security thread with demetalized “BAHAMAS” and “1”, metallic green fish foil patch, a sand-dollar see-through register, a watermark of Pindling with electrotype “1”, microprinting, and intaglio tactile features—all part of Level 1 and Level 2 CRISP design standards.
