The 20 Taka banknote issued in 2021 by the Bangladesh Bank is part of the updated series combining national symbolism with enhanced security and vibrant modern design. The obverse features a refined portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh. On the reverse is a depiction of the Shaheed Minar, the national monument in Dhaka honoring the martyrs of the 1952 Language Movement—an event foundational to Bangladesh’s national identity. This note continues the tradition of embedding patriotic elements while improving printing technology and note durability.
