Issued on 25 June 1982 by the Central Bank of Bolivia, this banknote belongs to the peso boliviano series that replaced the old boliviano currency. The obverse features a portrait of Juana Azurduy de Padilla, a celebrated independence leader, alongside the national coat of arms. The reverse depicts the historic House of Liberty (Casa de la Libertad) in Sucre, symbolizing Bolivia’s independence.

Printed on cotton paper by Thomas De La Rue, the note includes multiple security features: a portrait watermark of Juana Azurduy, a solid metallic security thread, and red UV-fluorescent fibers. The design uses black and multicolor underprint over a 155 × 65 mm surface.
