Issued in 2013 by the National Bank of Cambodia, this 50,000 Riels banknote commemorates the 61st birthday of King Norodom Sihamoni. It belongs to the modern series of banknotes featuring cultural and historical Khmer motifs.

The obverse displays a detailed portrait of King Norodom Sihamoni alongside a depiction of a seven-headed naga, a mythical serpent symbolizing protection, taken from a carving at Prasat Preah Palilay in Angkor Thom.

The reverse features images of Prasat Bakong, one of the oldest temples in the Angkor complex, and a sculpture of a baby elephant from the ancient site of Koh Ker in Preah Vihear province. Both designs highlight Cambodia’s rich heritage.

Security features include a watermark of King Norodom Sihanouk, a solid security thread with the denomination “50000” in demetalized text, UV-reactive fibers, and raised tactile printing.

The note is printed on durable cotton-based paper and measures 155 × 72 mm. It is cataloged under Pick number 61.
