Issued in 1953 by the People’s Bank of China, this 2 Fen banknote is part of the second series of Renminbi notes bearing the 1953 date. The obverse features an image of a ZIS‑150 truck laden with goods, symbolizing agricultural productivity, positioned to the right side, with denomination inscriptions in Chinese characters.
The reverse displays the National Emblem of the People’s Republic of China at center, encircled by ornate guilloché patterns. Below, denomination is printed in multiple scripts—Chinese, Uyghur, Tibetan, and Mongolian—to represent China’s ethnic diversity.
Printed on cotton-based paper, the note measures 90 × 42 mm. It includes intaglio printing and serial number lettering, but does not have a watermark or security thread.
