The 10 Tolarjev 1992 banknote was issued by the Bank of Slovenia as part of the definitive currency series after the country’s independence in 1991.
The obverse features a portrait of Primož Trubar (1508–1586), a Protestant reformer and author of the first book printed in the Slovene language, symbolizing the nation’s cultural and linguistic identity.
The reverse shows the Trubar’s printing press, representing his role in spreading literacy and Slovene heritage.
The note is printed on high-quality cotton paper with security features such as a watermark, microtext, and intaglio printing.
Dimensions: 138 × 67 mm.
Obverse
The hand engraved portrait of the Protestant Primož Trubar is the main motif on the front of the banknote. The profile silhouette filled up with microwriting completes the image. In the centre of the left hand area of the banknote the motif of the first page of Trubar’s Abecedarium is printed by the intaglio method, and beneath it a writing quill is pictured. The watermark bears the face of Primož Trubar. The print is a dark maroon colour on a multicoloured underprint.
