Issued by the Banco Central de Venezuela in 2017, this 100,000 Bolívares banknote belongs to the Bolívar Fuerte series and was introduced during a period of severe inflation. At the time of issue, it was the highest denomination in circulation and was later withdrawn following subsequent currency reconversions.
The obverse features a portrait of Simón Bolívar, Venezuela’s liberator and national hero, accompanied by denomination numerals, official inscriptions, and complex guilloche patterns.
The reverse depicts Cardinal birds (Red Siskins) in front of Waraira Repano (El Ávila) National Park, representing Venezuela’s natural heritage and biodiversity, along with the national Coat of Arms.
