Kyrgyzstan 20 Som 2024 UNC Banknote
The Kyrgyzstan 20 Som 2024 banknote was introduced into circulation on 15 February 2024 by the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic as part of the country’s new Fifth Series of banknotes, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Kyrgyz Som. While the principal artwork remained unchanged, the note incorporates advanced security features and an updated design.
Presented in UNC (Uncirculated) condition, it is one of the newest circulating banknotes from Central Asia and an excellent addition to any modern world currency collection.
Historical Background
The Fifth Series was introduced gradually between 2023 and 2024 to modernize Kyrgyzstan’s circulating banknotes while preserving the country’s cultural identity. The 20 Som denomination entered circulation on 15 February 2024, alongside the new 50 and 100 Som notes.
The updated series retains portraits of important cultural figures and famous national landmarks while adding a new generation of anti-counterfeiting technology.
