The 10 Birr 2020 banknote was issued by the National Bank of Ethiopia as part of the latest series of Ethiopian birr notes.
The obverse features a portrait of Emperor Menelik II (1844–1913), celebrated for his leadership in modernizing Ethiopia and securing its independence during the Battle of Adwa.
The reverse depicts the Blue Nile Falls (Tis Issat) along with stylized patterns representing Ethiopia’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
The note is printed on cotton-based paper and includes a watermark of Emperor Menelik II, a security thread, and other anti-counterfeiting features.
