The Libya 50 Dinars ND (2008) banknote (Pick 75) was issued by the Central Bank of Libya on 31 August 2008 during the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya period. Printed by De La Rue in the United Kingdom, it was the highest denomination of the Jamahiriya series and prominently features Muammar al-Gaddafi wearing his trademark hat and sunglasses.

Historical Background
The 50 Dinars denomination was introduced to facilitate high-value transactions during the final years of the Jamahiriya government. Following the 2011 Libyan Civil War, the note was withdrawn from circulation on 15 March 2012, making it one of the shortest-lived modern Libyan banknotes.
