Issued in 1986 by the Central Bank of Brazil, this 100 Cruzados banknote is part of the Cruzado currency series introduced under the Cruzado Plan. The obverse features a portrait of Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira, Brazil’s 21st president, alongside images of electric power transmission towers and a highway—symbols of modernization and national development.
The reverse showcases notable Brasília landmarks: the National Congress, Catetinho, and Alvorada Palace, representing the capital’s architectural heritage. The note is printed on cotton-based paper and includes a watermark of Juscelino Kubitschek, microprinted “Banco Central do Brasil” text, latent number “100”, and UV‑fluorescent fibers. It does not feature a security thread.
This banknote measures 154 × 74 mm and was withdrawn from circulation on 15 January 1989.
